pellotine Chem.|ˈpɛlətiːn| [ad. G. pellotin (A. Heffter 1894, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XXVII. 2977), f. Mexican pellote peyote: see -ine5.] An alkaloid, C13H19NO3, obtained from peyote and formerly used as a hypnotic; 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-8-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy-1,2-dimethylisoquinoline.
