pelecypod, a. and n. Zool.|pɪˈlɛsɪpɒd| [fr. Gr. πέλεκυς hatchet + -ποδος -footed.] a. adj. Having a hatchet-shaped foot, as a bivalve mollusc; pertaining to such a mollusc. b. n. A pelecypod mollusc. Hence peleˈcypodous a., in same sense.
