pearceite Min.|ˈpɪəsaɪt| [f. the name of Richard Pearce (1837–1927), British-born metallurgist and chemist + -ite1.] A black, lustrous, brittle sulphide of silver and arsenic, Ag16As8S11, that occurs as tabular crystals and usu. contains copper in place of some of the silver.
