parthenote, n. Biol. Brit. |ˈpɑːθɪnəʊt|, |ˈpɑːθnˌəʊt|, U.S. |ˈpɑrθəˌnoʊt| [Probably ‹partheno- comb. form + -ote (in zygote n.).] An organism produced from an unfertilized egg by parthenogenesis, esp. one which (as in mammals) is not naturally capable of developing beyond the early embryonic stages.
