paratyphoid, n. (a.) Path.|pærəˈtaɪfɔɪd| [f. para-1 + typhoid a. (n.).] A fever similar in symptoms to, but generally milder than, typhoid fever, from which it can be distinguished bacteriologically. Freq. attrib. or as adj., esp. in paratyphoid fever.
