[1940Q. Jrnl. Med. IX. 239 Observations on the effect of parasympathetic-mimetic drugs have been made.] 1946Jrnl. Pharmacol. & Exper. Therap. LXXXVII. 31 A range of doses of eleven parasympathomimetic drugs (acetylcholine, mecholyl, [etc.]..) was administered subcutaneously. 1968W. C. Bowman et al. Textbk. Pharmacol. xxviii. 702 In addition to their important muscarinic actions, many parasympathomimetic drugs exert other actions at different sites. For example, acetylcholine itself..stimulates ganglion cells and striated muscle. 1972Exper. Neurol. XXXIV. 355 (heading) The central activity of parasympathomimetics on gastric secretory function. 1974Ann. Internal Med. LXXXI. 49/1 All parasympathomimetic maneuvers and drugs affect arrhythmias by causing local release of acetylcholine in cardiac tissues. 1974M. C. Gerald Pharmacol. v. 103 Analogous terms are used for drugs modifying cholinergic activity, that is, cholinergic or parasympathomimetic agents and cholinergic blocking agents. |
