A fraternity of priests in Aldgate ward, London, or their residence.
1598Stow Surv. 110 Then come you to the Pappey, a proper house, wherein sometime was kept a Fraternitie, or brotherhood of S. Charitie, and S. Iohn Euangelist, called the Papey, for poore impotent Priestes, (for in some language Priestes are called Papes) founded in the yeare 1430. 1790Pennant London (1813) 607.
