‖ papabile, a.|paˈpabile| [It.; cf. papable a.] Of a prelate: worthy of becoming Pope; having good prospects of being elected Pope. Also in pl. form papabili and in L. form papabilis. Also as n., a prelate regarded as a possible Pope (during a conclave).
