Panhard rod, n. (ˈpænɑːd, ‖ pɑnar) [f. Panhard (ellipt. f. Panhard–Levassor, the name of a French motor company which incorporated the feature on many of its cars).] A torsion bar attached to the rear axle on some motor vehicles.
