† palour Obs. Also 6–8 pallour. [ad. F. palourde:—late pop. L. pelorida, for cl. L. pelōris, -idem, a. Gr. πελωρίς, -ίδα giant-mussel.] A bivalve shell-fish; a kind of cockle or mussel.
