palindrome, n. and a.|ˈpælɪndrəʊm| [ad. Gr. παλίνδροµ-ος running back again: so in mod.F. (Littré).] A. n. 1. A word, verse, or sentence that reads the same when the letters composing it are taken in the reverse order.
