[a. Chinese bāguà (Wade-Giles pā-kua), f. bā eight + guà divinatory symbols.]
1. Any of various traditional Chinese symbols or motifs incorporating the eight trigrams of the I Ching; spec. an arrangement of these trigrams in a circle round the yin-yang symbol.
