oxygenous, a.|ɒkˈsɪdʒɪnəs| [f. oxygen, or F. oxygène + -ous.] †a. Producing acids, acidifying: oxygenous gas, oxygen; oxygenous principle, Kirwan's rendering (1787) of Lavoisier's principe oxygine (1777–84). Obs. b. Of the nature of, consisting of, or containing oxygen.
