An elastic material formed of cross-linked protein chains that is found in the cuticles of many species of insect, notably forming the hinges and ligaments of wings.
1960New Scientist 14 July 104/1 Resilin is a protein of a new kind in which the protein chains are cross-linked by means of bonds of a new sort which are resistant to tryptic digestion.1960T.
