Outremer, n. Hist. (ˈuːtrəmɛər, ‖ utrəmer) [a. F. outre-mer adv. (as in pays or département d'outre-mer), f. outre beyond + mer sea.] The land beyond the sea: applied to the medieval French crusader states.
