oubaas S. Afr.|ˈəʊbɑːs| Also ou baas, oud baas. [Afrikaans, f. ou(d) old + baas.] Elderly head of a family; elderly man, old gentleman. Also used as a form of address and prefixed to a surname or a Christian name.
