Gr. ὄγκος barb of an arrow, angle, so called from the form of the lower petal or labellum.] A large genus of American epiphyte orchids, containing many handsome species, with few leaves and showy yellow flowers, one of the best known being the Butterfly-plant (O. Papilio).
