oiticica|ɔɪtɪˈsiːkə| [Pg., f. Tupi oitisica.] A name used for several tropical South American trees, esp. Licania rigida, of the family Chrysobalanaceæ, whose crushed seeds yield an oil used in paints and varnishes. Also attrib.
