‖ aponeurosis Phys.|-ˈəʊsɪs| Pl. -es. [L., a. Gr. ἀπονεύρωσις, f. ἀπονευρό-ειν to change into a tendon, f. ἀπό off, away + νεῦρον sinew.] A white, shining, fibrous membrane, sometimes serving as the sheath of a muscle, sometimes forming the connexion between a muscle and a tendon.
