1. A rewriting, writing over again.
1588J. Mellis Briefe Instr. F j b, And [on] this rescription into a new leafe, ye shall sald [= balance] the former accompt in that place. 1674S. Jeake Arith. 2. The action of replying in writing; a written reply.
