octopod, n. and a.|ˈɒktəpɒd| [ad. Gr. ὀκτώποδ- (also ὀκτάποδ-), stem of ὀκτώπους octopus, in neuter pl. ὀκτώποδα Octopoda.] A. n. An animal having eight feet; spec. an octopus, or other member of the suborder Octopoda of cephalopods.
