novákite Min.|nəʊˈvɑːkaɪt| Also novakite. [ad. G. novákit (Johan & Hak 1959, in Chem. der Erde XX. 49), f. the name of JiříNovák, 20th-cent. Czechoslovakian mineralogist: see -ite1.] A tetragonal arsenide of copper, Cu4As3, found at Černy Důl, Czechoslovakia, which is steel-grey on fresh fracture but becomes almost black on exposure to air.
