novation|nəʊˈveɪʃən| Also 6–7 nouation (6 -cion), 6 Sc. novatioun, nowation. [ad. L. novātiōn-em, n. of action f. novāre: see novate v. So F. novation, Sp. novacion, It. novazione.] 1. The introduction of something new; a change, an innovation. Common in Sc. use from c 1560 to 1650. Now rare.
