Du. noordkaap, G. nordkap, the North Cape), formerly used as a specific name (Balæna Nordcaper): hence also F. nordcaper.] A North Atlantic species of whale, variously identified with Balæna mysticetus and B. biscayensis. Cf. north-caper.
