non-subˈstantial, a. Philos. [non- 3.] Not substantial. Hence non-subˈstantialism, the theory that there is no substance underlying phenomena; = nihilism 2. Also non-subˈstantialist, one who holds the doctrine of non-substantialism; = nihilist 1.
