Wandering or rambling by night, as an unlawful or prohibited practice subject to a fine.
1632Marmion Holland's Leaguer iv. iii, No farther than to prison, where you shall pay But forty shillings for noctivagation. 1637Abp. Laud Wks. (1853) V. 164 You shall do well to have a care of noctivagation and other disorders. 1678Wood Life 25 Apr. II. 403 The townsmen acknowledge 6s. 8d. to be paid for noctivagation,..but not 40s.
