newberyite Min.|ˈnjuːbərɪaɪt| [ad. G. newberyit (G. vom Rath (at the suggestion of G. Ulrich) 1879, in Sitzungsber. der niederrhein. Ges. in Bonn XXXVI. 8), f. the name of J. Cosmo Newbery (19th-cent. Australian mineralogist) + -it -ite1.] A hydrated magnesium acid phosphate, MgH(PO4).3H2O, which is found as colourless orthorhombic crystals.
