naphthol Chem.|ˈnæfθɒl| [f. naphth-a + -ol.] One of two phenols of naphthalene, distinguished as α (or alpha) naphthol and β (or beta) naphthol; the latter is employed in the cure of skin-diseases and for other medical purposes. Also attrib.
