‖ myelencephalon Anat.|ˌmaɪəlɛnˈsɛfəlɒn| [f. Gr. µυελός, -όν marrow + encephalon.] a. The cerebro-spinal axis or system (Owen). b. The medulla oblongata (Huxley). So myelenceˈphalic a., pertaining to or connected with the myelencephalon; myelenˈcephalous a., (a) = myelencephalic; (b) pertaining to the sub-kingdom Myelencephala (Owen) or vertebrates.
