‖ mya Zool.|ˈmaɪə| Pl. myæ, myas. [mod.L. (Linnæus 1758), prob. an alteration of Gr. µῦ-ς mussel; Linnæus has myes as a plural.] A bivalve of a genus formerly of wide extent, but now restricted to the Gaper or Soft Clam (M. arenaria) and closely resembling species.
