muricate, a. Bot. and Zool.|ˈmjʊərɪkət| [ad. L. mūricāt-us shaped like the murex, f. mūric- murex.] Furnished with sharp points, studded with short hard excrescences. † Also (rarely) terminating in a long sharp point, like the murex.
