Munsell|ˈmʌnsəl| The name of the American Albert H. Munsell (1858–1918), used attrib. in connection with his classification of colours by means of the three quantities hue, ‘value’ (lightness or brightness), and chroma, each of which can be assigned, for any particular colour, a numerical value on prescribed scales.
