‖ monoxylon|mɒˈnɒksɪlən| Pl. monoxyla. Also 7–8 in mod. Gr. form monoxylo (sing.). [a. Gr. µονόξυλον, neut. of µονόξυλος: see next.] A canoe or boat made from one piece of timber.
1555Eden Decades 78 Theyr canoas whiche we may well caule Monoxyla, bycause they are made of one hole tree. 1682Wheler Journ.
