† monorhythm Obs.—0 [f. Gr. µόνο-ς mono- + ῥυθµ-ός rhythm.] = monorime. Etymologically the word should mean ‘having one rhythm’; but prob. it was intended as a more correct form to be substituted for the hybrid monorhyme (-rime), the word rhyme being regarded as a derivative of ῥυθµός.
