▪ I. mistaking, vbl. n.|mɪˈsteɪkɪŋ| [f. mistake v. + -ing1.] The action of mistake v.; † wrong-doing; misunderstanding, misconception; the act of making a mistake. From c 1580 to c 1650 frequent in the sense of: Mistake, error.
