The name of the second in size of the Balearic islands. Used attrib., as Minorca-fowl (also Minorca), a much esteemed black variety of the domestic fowl introduced from Spain; Minorca holly (see quot.). Hence Miˈnorcan and the equivalent Minorquin, Menorquine [Sp. Menorquín]. a. adj. of or belonging to the island of Minorca; b. n. an inhabitant of Minorca; also, the language of the inhabitants of Minorca.
