Messenian, n. and a.|mɛˈsiːnɪən| [f. L. Messenius, Gr. Μεσσήνιος Messenian + -an.] A. n. a. A native or inhabitant of Messenia, a region in the south-west Peloponnese bordered on the east by Laconia. b. The dialect of this region. B. adj. Of or belonging to Messenia.
