mephenesin Pharm.|məˈfɛnəsɪn| [f. methyl + phenyl + cresol + -in1.] A colourless crystalline compound, CH3·C6H4O·CH2CH(OH)CH2OH, which is used as a muscle-relaxant in the treatment of spastic, hypertonic, and hyperkinetic conditions, and as a tranquillizer.
