menthone Chem.|ˈmɛnθəʊn| [f. L. menth-a mint + -one.] 3-Methyl-6-isopropylcyclohexanone, C10H18O, an optically active cyclic ketone whose lævorotatory form is a liquid with an odour of peppermint and occurs in American peppermint, geranium, and other oils.
