meliphanite Min.|mɛˈlɪfənaɪt| Also ˈmeliphane. [f. Gr. µέλι ‘honey’ + ϕαν-, ϕαίνεσθαι to appear + -ite. Named by Dana, in allusion to its colour, after leucophane, -phanite; the earlier name (Scheerer 1852) was melinophan, prob. f. µήλινος meline a.1] Fluo-silicate of glucinum, calcium and sodium.
