meionite Min.|ˈmaɪənaɪt| Also mionite. [a. F. meionite (Haüy), f. Gr. µείων smaller: see -ite. Meant to indicate that the crystals are smaller than those of vesuvianite.] A white or colourless silicate of aluminum and calcium found in lava.
