mediæval, medieval, a. and n.|mɛdɪˈiːvəl, miːdɪˈiːvəl| [f. L. medius middle + ævum age + -al1.] A. adj. Of, pertaining to or characteristic of the Middle Ages. Of Art, Religion, etc.: Resembling or imitative of that of the Middle Ages.
