anthracothere Palæont.|ˈænθrəkəʊˌθɪə(r)| [ad. mod.L. anthracothērium (also used), f. as anthraconite + Gr. θηρίον beast.] A pachyderm quadruped whose remains occur in Tertiary lignites and coal.
