mallophagous, a. Ent.|mæˈlɒfəgəs| [f. mod.L. mallophag-us, pl. (f. Gr. µαλλός lock of wool + -ϕάγος that eats) + -ous.] Of an insect: Devouring wool, hair, feathers, etc.; applied to the Mallophaga, a group of apodous parasitic insects.
