malanga, n.|məˈlæŋgə| [a. Amer. Sp. malanga, f. Kikongo melanga taro.] Any of several plants of the arum family cultivated in the Caribbean and Central and South America for their edible tubers and medicinal value, esp. ones of the genus Xanthosoma.
