malacoderm, a. and n. Nat. Hist.|ˈmæləkəʊdɜːm| [f. Gr. µαλακό-ς soft + δέρµα skin.] A. adj. Having a soft skin. B. n. A soft-skinned animal; an animal of any of the various groups called Malacodermata (-derma, -dermi), viz.: a. one of the two divisions of Reptiles, opposed to Sclerodermata; b. a tribe of beetles, including the fireflies; c. the sea-anemones.
