macromere Embryology.|ˈmækrəʊmɪə(r)| [f. Gr. µακρό-ς long + µέρος part.] The larger of the two masses into which the vitellus of the developing ovum of Lamellibranchiata divides: cf. micromere. Hence macroˈmeral, macroˈmeric adjs., of or pertaining to the macromere.
