anorthite Min.|æˈnɔːθaɪt| [f. Gr. ἀν priv. + ὀρθ-ός straight + -ite; named by Rose in 1823.] ‘Lime-feldspar,’ a mineral placed by Dana in the Feldspar group of Unisilicates, and occurring in small triclinic or ‘anorthic’ glassy crystals.
