‖ æcidium Bot.|iːˈsɪdɪəm| Pl. -a. [mod.L., dim. of Gr. αἰκία injury.] The cup-shaped fruit borne on the mycelium of certain parasitic fungi which especially attack the families Compositæ, Ranunculaceæ, Leguminosæ, and Labiatæ.
