Lugol|ˈluːgɒl| [The name of Jean Lugol (1786–1851), French physician.] Lugol's iodine, Lugol's solution, a solution of 5% iodine and 10% potassium iodide in water, which is used for the internal administration of iodine and as a biological stain.
